The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department serves as the coordination organization of the Sassy Softball Sisters league. In this role, MCP&R provides playing fields, arranges for umpires, team assignments, scheduling and oversees the day-to-day activities of the league.



Saturday Practices - Practice sessions are held on Saturday mornings when fields are available. Please check with team or league personnel to verify dates.

Spring League - April through mid-July.

Fall League - August through early November.

Softball 2012 - Spring League

Registration for the 2012 Spring League will open January 23. All players need to submit a new Player Profile Form.

*** League Team Formation ***
Spring 2012 teams will be determined by draft. 2012 Spring League teams will form the nucleus of the Fall League rosters with adjustments being made for (1) Spring League players not returning to play Fall League, (2) first-time players and (3) players returning after an absence.

Thursday nights, April 5 - June 21
All games are played at Park Road Park, 6220 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.

*** Spring Fees ***

Spring League Fee - $45

Players who register before March 15th are guaranteed a roster position. Applicants who register after March 15 will be put on a Wait List. To reserve your place please send your registration fee following the submission of your Player Profile Form. If you are assigned to the Wait List your registration fee will be returned. Pre-season practices are scheduled for March 3, 8, 10 and 15 at Park Road Park.

*** Another Playing Opportunity ***

In addition to the Sassy Softball Sisters weekly league players age 55 and above may want to participate in the Mecklenburg County and North Carolina Senior Games. Organization for this event is in the Spring. Please note your interest when you complete the Player Profile Form.

The Sassy Softball Sisters softball league plays according to Amateur Softball Association (ASA) slow pitch rules as modified for local play. To view local addendum to rules click here.



Want To Play?

Registration for Sassy Softball Sisters is by individual. Women, age 45 and over, are eligible for play. Playing age is your age as of December 31 of the current playing year. Registration fees, noted in the center column, are payable at the time of registration. Checks should be made payable to Lisa Quinn and mailed to Lisa Quinn, Sassy Softball Sisters, 1133 Metropolitan Ave #308, Charlotte, NC 28204.
